Donate to the scholarship fund created to honor Dr. Earl T. Braxton
EARL T. BRAXTON, PHD, passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, in Pittsburg, PA. Earl was born on August 30, 1942, so he was 80 years old when he died.
I write to you as a colleague, friend and fan of Dr. Braxton to propose a way to honor him and his contributions to group relations learning and development in the US over many years. From my perspective, Earl was one of the first of us to encourage people to focus not only on individual learning but also on the dynamics of groups and systems as these attempt to reach their goals. I am very proud of working with Earl in group relations conferences as well as in application work in the outside world.
I believe that Earl’s contributions to group relations learning should go forward in time, so I’m proposing that AKRI create an ongoing fund to support access to group relations conferences for women and men of color when needed to support their attendance by providing financial support. I’m beginning this funding with a $1,000. donation to AKRI in the hope that there are others who’d like to extend Earl’s legacy along with me.
Sincerely Charla Hayden
