From the mid 1960s through the 80’, Dr. Colman observed and engaged in the origin and early history of Grex and its parent group, the AK Rice Institute. He was one of the founders and member of the first board of directors of both organizations, the first president of Grex and then third of the AK Rice institute and editor of the first two Group Relations Readers, it’s influential and seminal Bible. He knew all the American “players“ intimately as well as many English/French/Swedish counterparts. From this experiential matrix, he will try to weave a story of how this now 50 year organization began: the loves, relationships, social context, and ethos that made Grex grow, develop and influence so many…
Arthur Colman was educated at Harvard College, Harvard Medical School, UCSF Department of Psychiatry, and the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco.
